Mylar bags extend the time that food can be stored, but they are far less expensive than a professional food storage facility. I have a query for you. What is the name of the bags that are used in the kitchen to store food and grain? The majority of people are able to respond quickly using “mylar bags.” Yes, that’s correct. Yet another query: why were the bags referred to as “mylar bags”? Everyone, including users, will have a question mark above their heads. Although the bags are frequently referred to as “mylar bags,” it is not well recognized “why it is called mylar bags.”
Actually, the PET FILM brand “mylar” is quite well known. ICI UK and Dupont USA submitted the initial polyester film (PET) patent applications in 1984. BOPET was created in 1953, and at that time, BOPET bags were used in the kitchen. Compared to mylar, BOPET is far more challenging to say. Therefore, mylar bags are being used more frequently to refer to vacuum aluminized BOPET bags.
